Information about the four lagoons in Cusco

The Circuit of the Four Lakes is located in the province of Acomayo, in the district of Pomacanchi are these famous lagoons, at a distance of 107 km from the city of Cusco (2 hours by car), a tourist circuit has been created that allows to appreciate the four lagoons, this initiative is thanks to the joint effort of some 40 communities in the area, which offer the service of guidance, lodging and food.

The Pomacanchi lagoon

From the town of Pomacanchi 2.5 km. (10 minutes by car) more is traveled to the first lagoon also called Pomacanchi, it is located in the upper part of the Vilcanota River. The Pomacanchi lagoon has a maximum depth of 140 meters; Around this there are abundant natural pastures: medicinal species, totora, mirmi, etc. and of fish: trout, pejerreyes, huitas, ccarachis, ch’iñis and carps. The lagoon of Acopia
