BOOKING CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions together with the general information contained in
this website (Terms and Conditions) form the basis of your contract with Life
Expeditions (Tour Operator) and apply to your booking through this website / or directly
via email. Upon payment of your deposit you agree to adhere to these Terms and
Conditions.
EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
The Operator makes all arrangements for all tours on the condition that it shall not be
liable for any illness, injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be
occasioned, directly or indirectly, by any defect in any vehicle, by the weather, by any
other cause, or by acts of default of a company or person engaged in transporting
passengers, or in making arrangements for these activities. We strongly recommend
that you take out travel insurance prior to your trip.
By participating in this activity, you expressly assume those risks and liabilities and are,
to the fullest extent permitted by law, releasing the Operator, its officers, employees,
directors, agents and any other persons associated with us, from any liability claims,
losses, damages or expenses (of any kind and regardless of whether direct, indirect or
consequential) caused by any event, including, but not limited to: personal injury or
death loss or damage to property; acts which may be construed as negligent or
accidental; any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder suffered
by you or any other person in connection with this activity booked on or through this
website or through email directly. You agree that you have been advised to obtain
adequate travel insurance for all persons named on the booking and/or who will be
undertaking the trek.
By participating in the activity, you agree to be bound by the following conditions: My
successors, executors and administrators are bound by the Terms and Conditions; I
agree not to bring any legal proceedings in any country in relation to the risks and
liabilities set out above and to indemnify the Operator against any claims; I confirm and
warrant that I am physically fit and do not suffer from any medical condition that may
affect my ability to participate in the activity; I consent to receive medical treatment in
the event of injury, accident or illness during the activity and to indemnify the Operator
against any claims, costs or expenses related to the treatment; I agree that any film,
sound, video or other recordings taken of or during the activity shall not be used in any
production or publicity without the prior consent of the Operator, however the Operator
may use such recordings at its sole discretion without any prior approval; and prior
approval; and I agree to listen to my driver/guide/host, follow his/her instructions and
ensure that the children in my care do the same. In addition, the Operator shall not be
liable for personal injury and/or property damage caused by you and the costs of such
damage shall be your responsibility. You shall indemnify the Operator in respect of
such costs.
PAYMENTS
Please see the deposit requirements below according to your specific tour. You agree
to make payment by credit card. The amount charged will be the amount shown in U.S.
dollars on your invoice. The amount will be charged to your card in the amount shown
or converted to your or converted to your local currency by your credit card company.
Depending on the currency of the reservation, the currency of your credit card and the
country in which it was issued, your credit card provider may impose foreign exchange
and other fees in accordance with its agreements with your credit card provider. We
are not responsible for currency conversion and other fees imposed by your credit card
provider.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellation fees for all Life Expeditions tours/treks are charged as follows per person.
ALL TOURS/PACKAGES AND PACKAGE ITINERARIES (excludes day tours in Peru -
see below).
A 50% deposit or the amount suggested on the website is required to reserve dates. All
deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. The
remaining balance is due at least 60 days prior to departure and is non-refundable
once payment is completed. You agree to pay your final invoice at least 60 days prior
to departure of your trip or you will be subject to late fees (5% per week until December
31). (5% per week until 31 days prior to departure). If payment is not made at least 31
days prior to departure, your reservation will be cancelled. The Operator reserves the
right to cancel your itinerary if payment is not received within 31 days prior to
departure. No refunds are made for altitude sickness, food poisoning, family
emergencies, force majeure, or any other reason given by the passenger. THERE ARE
NO EXCEPTIONS.
For this reason, it is strongly recommended to purchase travel insurance.
OPERATOR CANCELLATIONS
The Operator reserves the right to alter, modify or cancel any trip if weather or any
other circumstances require it. Once the trip has departed, no part of the package is
refundable in the event that an individual or group is unable to continue on the trip, for
whatever reason. If the trip is cancelled prior to departure, due to the customer will
receive a credit for future trips for the full amount, valid for one year from the original
booking. year from the original booking. In the event that the Operator cancels the trip
due to forces of nature, force majeure, no refunds will be made. Customers assume all
responsibility in knowing that the Operator cannot control the weather and there is
always the possibility of walking in rain, wind, snow or fog. Conditions may change at
any time without notice. In the event that the Operator has to cancel the tour mid-tour,
no refunds will be given. Force Majeure: In no event shall the Tour Operator be liable
for death, bodily injury illness, damage, delay or other loss or damage to person or
property, or direct or indirect financial costs, or for the failure of the Company to
commence, perform or complete any obligation owed to you, if such death, delay,
bodily injury (including emotional distress), illness, damage or any other loss or
damage to person or property is caused by an act of God, war or similar operation,
epidemic or pandemic, mechanical breakdown, terrorist activities or threat thereof, civil
commotion, labor difficulties interference by authorities, political disturbances, however
and wherever arising or caused, riots, insurrections and governmental restrictions, fire,
extreme weather or any other cause. Extreme weather or any other cause beyond the
reasonable control of the company or an event which the company or the service
provider, even with due diligence, cannot foresee. Any of which, individually and in the
aggregate constitute "force majeure".
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
While we try to accommodate most special dietary requirements reported, we operate
in an extremely isolated environment and this is not always possible. We must be
informed of any dietary requirements prior to any excursion or we will not be able to
accommodate this need.
If you have any life-threatening food allergies, you must carry appropriate medical
equipment in case of a contamination reaction.
CONFIRMATION EMAIL
Once payment is complete, you will be emailed a booking confirmation which will
include booking confirmation which will include important details about what to expect,
what you need to bring, what is provided and where you need to be at what time.
Please be sure to read this information to make sure you are adequately prepared for
your hike. You are responsible for making sure you are dressed appropriately and have
the right footwear to do the hike.
CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Operator reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time
without notifying customers. Any booking you make will be subject to the Terms and
Conditions that apply at the time the booking is made and you are advised to read all
Terms and Conditions at the time of booking.
