TRIP DETAILS

Our expedition through history begins promptly at 1:30 PM from the emblematic Plaza de Armas. We will first immerse ourselves in the religious syncretism by visiting the imposing Cusco Cathedral, a jewel of colonial art that holds secrets of the conquest. From there, we walk to the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), the spiritual epicenter of the Inca Empire. Here, the astonishing precision of the Inca masonry that survives beneath the convent will leave you breathless.

We will board our tourist transport to ascend to the city's heights, heading to the most colossal ceremonial center of the empire: Sacsayhuamán. This is not a quick stop; we will dedicate approximately two hours to a deep, guided visit. You will explore its cyclopean walls and learn about its military and ceremonial importance, all while enjoying an unparalleled panoramic view of Cusco.

Continuing our archaeological circuit, we will head to Q'enqo, a mysterious ceremonial amphitheater and center of astronomical worship, where we'll explore its altars carved from living rock. We will follow the route to Puka Pukara, known as the "Red Fortress." This site served as a strategic military checkpoint and a tambo (rest stop) guarding the access to the heart of the empire.

We conclude our historical immersion at Tambomachay, the Temple of the Water. Here, the Inca hydraulic engineering and the peaceful environment will connect you with the Andean reverence for the elements. After a guided tour and dedicated time for photos, we will begin our return. We will be back at a central point in Cusco by approximately 5:00 PM, closing out an unforgettable afternoon of cultural discovery.
