You’ll only need to carry a daypack, as our team will handle all the camping equipment and food. Your personal belongings will be transported by our horses, ensuring you can focus on enjoying the hike and the stunning scenery.
TRIP DETAILS
Day 1: Cusco - Socma - Perolniyoc - Rayan - Chanca Chuco
Our adventure begins early in the morning as we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and head towards the Sacred Valley, arriving at the community of Socma. This is where our trek along the Inca Trail officially begins. As we walk, we'll pass through a stunning valley, making our way to the impressive Perolniyoc waterfall. After a brief stop to enjoy the scenery, we'll continue our hike up to the archaeological site of Perolniyoc, an imposing Inca city that offers a glimpse into the ancient civilization's architectural prowess.
Following lunch, we proceed to our first campsite, passing through the community of Rayanniyoc and ascending to Chanca Chuco, situated at 4,400 meters above sea level. This day covers a total distance of 14 kilometers, with trails that offer breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences.
Day 2: Chanca Chuco - Sun Gate - Cachiccata - Ollantaytambo
We'll wake up at 5 am with a refreshing cup of coca tea, followed by breakfast before we embark on our hike. Today’s journey will be challenging as we climb two high mountain passes, each offering breathtaking panoramic views. Afterward, we’ll begin our descent, making our way to the Sun Gate near Ollantaytambo, where the carved stones of Cachiccata await our exploration.
A delicious lunch prepared by our chef will refuel us as we continue our trek toward Ollantaytambo, a living Inca village where we'll spend the night. The day’s hike covers a total of 17 kilometers, and although it’s a challenging trek, the magical landscapes along the way will make it all worthwhile.
Day 3: Ollantaytambo – Km 104 (Chachabamba) – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes
At 5:50 am, we'll depart from our hotel in Ollantaytambo and take the train to Km 104, the starting point of our Inca Trail adventure. From Chachabamba, we'll begin our hike, walking for approximately 6 hours along the trail. Along the way, we’ll visit Inca sites such as Chachabamba and Wiñaywayna, where we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the ruins.
Reenergized, we’ll continue our journey, arriving at the famous Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where we’ll catch our first glimpse of Machu Picchu and capture those classic photos. Afterward, we'll descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where we'll spend the night.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco
Our final day starts early with breakfast at the hotel. At 5 am, we’ll catch one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu for an unforgettable visit to this iconic site. Accompanied by our guide, we’ll explore the Inca citadel for approximately three hours, soaking in its rich history and breathtaking views.
Once our tour concludes, we’ll descend to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, we’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, marking the end of our incredible four-day adventure.
